Material
Botanical, mineral and functional materials are selected for intrinsic character, quality and purpose.
THE HOUSE · FORMULATION PHILOSOPHY
Plants. Minerals. Lipids. Pigments. Every material is selected for its character, examined for its chemistry, and placed only where it serves the whole.
The Method ↓THE FORMULA
A material is never chosen for novelty.
It is considered for what it is, what it contributes, and how it behaves beside every other material in the composition.
Origin matters. Extraction matters. Proportion matters. So does restraint.
The finished formula is not a catalogue of ingredients, but an architecture of relationships.
Botanical, mineral and functional materials are selected for intrinsic character, quality and purpose.
Fatty acids, sterols, pigments, aromatics and other constituents are considered before language or trend.
Proportion, sequence and interaction determine how individual materials become one coherent formula.
A formula is not the sum
of its ingredients.
Composition · Proportion · Restraint
A compelling material is not necessarily a useful one. Inclusion is determined by contribution.
Each material must justify its presence through function, sensory character, compatibility or performance within the larger composition.
More is not inherently more sophisticated. Complexity is valuable only when it produces coherence.
The same materials, arranged differently, do not make the same formula.
Concentration changes texture, behavior, absorption, color, finish and the relationship of one material to another.
Formulation is therefore not simply selection. It is calibration.
Gressa formulas are developed and produced within the same independent house.
Keeping the formulator close to the raw material, the batch and the finished formula preserves something difficult to outsource: observation.
Texture can be felt. Color can be judged. Variation can be understood rather than abstracted into a specification alone.
Gressa does not consider skin care and color opposing disciplines.
Botanical oils, mineral pigments, texture and treatment can coexist within the same composition when they are formulated as one from the beginning.
The Minimalist is perhaps the clearest expression of this: pigment and botanical serum conceived together, rather than one added to the other.

Three examples of material character—not hero ingredients, but components whose chemistry helps shape the formula.
Brassica oleracea
Botanical Lipid
Valued for the unusual slip and elegant spread created by its long-chain fatty acid profile.
Helichrysum italicum
Aromatic Botanical
Distinctive in character and potent in presence; used with restraint rather than as fragrance.
Hippophae rhamnoides
Botanical Lipid
Intensely colored and compositionally rich, with a character immediately visible in the material itself.
