Your Gressa Routine | How to Properly Layer Skincare
How to Layer Your Gressa Routine
There is a quiet architecture to a truly beautiful routine. It is not about how many steps you take, but how each one prepares the next — the way a jacket is built from lining to last stitch. Gressa was created with that same logic: a considered wardrobe of formulas that are meant to sit together on the skin, not fight for space.
This is your guide to building a Gressa morning and evening routine from first cleanse to final veil of color, using only our core apothecary pieces.
The Morning Routine
Step 1 — Cleanse: Balancing Cleanser & Cloth
Morning cleansing is a small ceremony, not a stripping. Use Balancing Cleanser with a soft washcloth and comfortably hot water:
- Apply Balancing Cleanser to dry or slightly damp skin.
- Massage gently for a minute to awaken circulation.
- Remove with a soft cloth soaked in hot (but comfortable) water, pressing and wiping rather than rubbing.
The goal is a clean, supple surface that still feels like skin, not paper.
Step 2 — Essence: Salt of the Earth
Salt of the Earth Essence is the spine of the routine. It softens, clarifies, and makes everything that follows sit more gracefully on the skin.
- On clean skin, press several pumps of Salt of the Earth into the face, neck, and décolleté.
- Work from the center of the face outward with slow, firm presses.
- Allow a few breaths for the skin to drink it in before you move on.
Step 3 — Treatment: Purifying Oil
In the morning, your treatment step is a light veil of oil. Purifying Oil refines and balances without heaviness.
- Warm 2–3 drops of Purifying Oil between your palms.
- Press into still-damp skin after Salt of the Earth, avoiding the immediate eye area.
- Let the finish remain dewy; your cream will seal it in.
Step 4 — Eye Care: Eye Elixir Rectifiée
Around the eyes, less is always more. Eye Elixir Rectifiée is designed to sit lightly between oil and cream.
- With the ring finger, tap a small pearl of Eye Elixir along the orbital bone.
- Trace gentle circles rather than dragging the skin.
- Allow a moment for absorption before your cream.
Step 5 — Cream: Cream No. 1
Cream No. 1 is the comfort layer — the knitwear of your morning care, placed over the finer inner pieces.
- Apply a small amount where you feel dryness most: cheeks, sides of the nose, jawline.
- Smooth outward in long, upward strokes, leaving the T-zone lighter if you are more combination.
At this point the skin should feel cushioned, not coated.
Step 6 — Complexion: The Minimalist, Bronzer & Light
Now skincare becomes complexion. The entire Gressa face wardrobe is built around The Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation, anchored by Minimalist Bronzer and Illuminating Serum.
- Start with 1–3 drops of The Minimalist on the back of the hand.
- With fingers or a brush, begin at the center of the face and work outward, treating it like a serum rather than paint.
- Add Minimalist Bronzer where the sun would naturally hit: high on the cheeks, temples, a whisper across the bridge of the nose.
- Finish with Illuminating Serum on the high points: cheekbones, brow bones, cupid’s bow, and a touch at the inner corners of the eyes if desired.
The order is always: The Minimalist → Bronzer → Light. The result is a fully finished face that still looks like skin.
Step 7 — Finishing Tint: Lip Boost
To bring life back into the face, finish with a Gressa tint. Choose the Lip Boost shade that feels most like you.
- Press a small amount of Lip Boost onto the apples of the cheeks and blend toward the temples.
- Repeat on the lips, patting with fingertip for a stained, lived-in finish.
Three products — The Minimalist, Bronzer, Light — and a Lip Boost are enough to carry you through the day.
The Evening Routine
Step 1 — First Cleanse: Balancing Cleanser
Evening is where cleansing does its heaviest work: removing pigment, sunscreen, and the day itself. Begin with Balancing Cleanser as your first cleanse.
- Apply Balancing Cleanser to dry skin, massaging thoroughly over face and neck.
- Emulsify with a little warm water, then remove with a soft, hot cloth.
Step 2 — Second Cleanse: Purifying Cleanser
Follow with Purifying Cleanser to leave the skin truly clean but still comfortable.
- Apply Purifying Cleanser to damp skin.
- Massage for a full minute, paying attention to areas prone to congestion.
- Rinse with warm water and gently pat dry.
Step 3 — Essence: Salt of the Earth
As in the morning, Salt of the Earth Essence comes next. This step prepares the skin to receive the night’s care.
- Press several pumps into face, neck, and chest.
- Use the palms of your hands to encourage absorption with slow, grounding presses.
Step 4 — Weekly Treatment: Rose Soufflé Mask
On evenings when your skin asks for more, introduce a mask after essence. Rose Soufflé Mask is your exfoliating and refining treatment.
- 1–2 times per week, apply a thin, even layer of Rose Soufflé Mask over skin prepared with Salt of the Earth.
- Leave on as directed, letting the formula do its quiet work.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat dry before continuing.
On non-mask nights, simply move from essence straight to your Night Repair Elixir.
Step 5 — Treatment Oil: Night Repair Elixir
Night is when renewal is deepest. Night Repair Elixir is your concentrated evening treatment.
- Warm a few drops of Night Repair Elixir between your palms.
- Press into face, neck, and décolleté, avoiding the immediate eye contour.
- Allow a slight sheen to remain; this is your overnight repair veil.
Step 6 — Final Seal: Siberian Pineapple Pressed Serum
To finish, seal the work beneath with Siberian Pineapple Pressed Serum — a rich, vivid concentrate that locks in everything beneath it.
- Take a small amount of Siberian Pineapple Pressed Serum between fingertips.
- Melt lightly between fingers, then press over Night Repair Elixir, focusing on drier zones.
- Let it sit on the skin like a final, protective layer.
Step 7 — Attar Body Oil
As the last gesture, move from face to body. Attar is a body oil first and foremost, meant to be poured over the whole silhouette rather than worn only as a pulse-point perfume.
- On damp skin after bath or shower, smooth Attar over arms, legs, and torso in long, deliberate strokes.
- With what remains on your hands, touch the wrists, behind the ears, or the base of the neck for a soft, intimate trail of scent.
You fall asleep not only moisturised, but lightly veiled in fragrance.
If You Only Have Five Minutes
Some days will not honour the length of your ideal care. When time is scarce, keep to the essentials:
- Balancing Cleanser with a hot cloth
- Salt of the Earth Essence
- Cream No. 1
- The Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation where you need it most
- Lip Boost on lips and cheeks
Five steps, done well, are better than twelve done thoughtlessly.
If You Are New to Gressa
You do not need to assemble the full wardrobe at once. A considered entry:
- Begin with Salt of the Earth Essence if your first wish is healthier, clearer bare skin.
- Begin with The Minimalist Corrective Serum Foundation if you long for a better face in the mirror with the lightest possible touch.
- Add Cream No. 1, Balancing Cleanser, and Night Repair Elixir as you are ready, to build a stable morning and evening structure.
- Then, when your daily routine feels secure, indulge in the extras: Lip Boost, Rose Soufflé Mask, Siberian Pineapple Pressed Serum, Attar Body Oil.
Over time, your Gressa routine stops feeling like a checklist and becomes a sequence of gestures you know by heart — a few exacting steps, repeated morning and night, that quietly return you to yourself.
